4 DAYS IN THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

An active 4 day itinerary allowing you to experience the best of what the Scottish Highlands have to offer.

This itinerary relies on a car. There are public transport options but this will mean your time seeing the sights and hiking is reduced by having to wait for buses and dealing with the longer journeys.


Day 1

  • 12pm - Arrive in the Highlands

  • 12pm-3pm - Park at the Hidden Valley car park and embark on the Hidden/Lost Valley walk. 2-3 hours round trip

  • 3pm-4pm - Drive to Loch Achtriochtan and those Instagram shots

  • 4pm-5pm - Stop at the Clachaig Inn for a beer

  • 5pm - Check in at the Kingshouse Hotel

  • 5pm-7pm - Unpack and relax in the room before dinner

  • 7pm-10pm - Enjoy a drink in the Kingshouse bar before dining in the hotel restaurant


Day 2

  • 8:30am-9:30am - Head down for a hearty breakfast in the hotel restaurant

  • 9:30am-10am - Get ready for the day ahead

  • 10am-11am - Drive to Glen Etive and take some stunning photos of the glen

  • 11am-11:30am - Drive back to Signal Rock car park

  • 11:30am-12:30pm - Embark of the Signal Rock and An Torr walk

  • 12:30pm-12:45pm - Drive to the end of Glencoe village and park up

  • 12:45pm-1:45pm - Start the Glencoe Lochan walk around the woodland

  • 1:45pm-2:30pm - Enjoy lunch at the Glencoe Cafe

  • 2:30pm-3:30pm - Drive to the Upper Glen Nevis car park

  • 3:30pm-5pm - Take the Steall Falls and Nevis Gorge walk

  • 5pm-6:30pm - Check into the Brevins Guest House

  • 6:30pm-7pm - Walk to the centre of Fort William

  • 7pm-9pm - Enjoy dinner at the Geographer

  • 9pm-10pm - Head for a drink at Black Isle bar

Day 3

  • 8am-8:30am - Enjoy a delicious and filling breakfast at the Brevins Guest House

  • 8:30am-9am- Walk from the Guest House to the Ben Nevis Inn

  • 9am-4pm - Pass through the gate and begin the Ben Nevis hike

  • 4pm-5:30pm - Grab some food and a celebratory beer (or 3) at the Ben Nevis Inn

  • 5:30pm-6pm - Head back to the Brevins Guest House

  • 6pm-7:30pm- Have a no doubt well-needed shower and relax

  • 7:30pm-8pm - Walk into the centre of Fort William

  • 8pm-10pm - Enjoy dinner at either the Highland Cinema (relaxed, tapas style food) or Garrison West (if you’re looking for something more up market)

  • 10pm-10:30pm - Walk back to the Guest House and have an early night


Day 4

  • 8:30am-9:30am - Have a leisurely breakfast at the Brevins Guest House

  • 9:30am-10:45am - Drive to the Falls of Falloch

  • 10:45am-11:15pm - Walk to the waterfall and take some photos

  • 11:15pm-12:15pm - Head to Luss

  • 12:15pm-1pm - Explore Luss and enjoy a leisurely walk

  • 1pm-2pm - Stop for some lunch or a snack at the Coach House Coffee Shop

  • 1:30pm-2pm - Time to use your imagination and enter the world of fairies and trolls on the Faerie trail

  • 2pm-2:30pm - Drive to the Conic Hill car park

  • 2:30pm-4:30pm - Hike up to Conic Hill, taking some time to enjoy the views at the top

  • 4:30pm-5:30pm - Head to the Oak Tree Inn for a quick beer before heading home

  • 5:30pm - Make your way back home and enjoy a well deserved good nights sleep
